Dr. Glen L. Scarbrough is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is affiliated with St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital. After receiving his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA, he completed his internship and residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. He has held several leadership roles at Candler Hospital including Department Chairperson of OBGYN from 1/2007-1/2009 and 1/2023-1/2025 and President of the Medical Staff at from 2012-2014.
For Dr. Scarbrough, a career in medicine is a family tradition. He credits the six years he practiced alongside his father during his early career as one of the most rewarding parts of entering the profession. Now he enjoys working with his daughter, Addison, an L&D nurse, who he states “will be loved far more by my patients if they have the privilege to meet her”. While he enjoys obstetrics and the opportunity to partner with patients in the miracle of birth, he is also an avid surgeon who finds great satisfaction in treating a variety of gynecologic conditions through minimally invasive techniques.
When not caring for his patients, Dr. Scarbrough is grateful for time spent with his wife, Lea, his two daughters, Addison Scarbrough and Elliot Scarbrough McGinty, his son in law, Graham McGinty… and now his grandson, Mac Gannon McGinty. He is an active member at Community Bible Church and is Medical Director for the Pregnancy Care Center of Rincon (PCC of Rincon) which assists young women facing challenging times and life-changing decisions in early pregnancy with faith-based options and support.
The epidural at St Josephs Candler could not have been more perfect, the nurses were incredible and welcoming, I really don’t have enough good things to say!
