Dr. Melanie Helmken’s Retirement Announcement

My Dear Patients,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from the practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology as of November 1, 2022. Caring for you all has been an all encompassing aspect of my life for almost thirty years. I thank you for your trust and confidence in my care. We have been through almost three decades together, and it has been my honor! I leave knowing you will remain in the capable hands of the best OB/GYNs and Nurse Practitioners in Savannah.

They are the most knowledgeable, talented and compassionate group of caregivers, those that I have chosen to work with and entrust the shared care of my patients over the years. You will find that there is a perfect match for every one of you in this excellent group of providers. Dr. Glen Scarbrough, Dr. Alan Smith, Dr. Neil Odom and Dr. Sarah Jarrell will continue to provide the best in obstetrical and gynecologic care. Dr. Ashley Hunsuck plans to join them in the near future and will be available to take over any of my previously scheduled patients. For those solely interested in gynecologic care, Dr. Amy Burgett and Dr. Elizabeth McIntosh are available. Our thorough Nurse Practitioners also continue to offer the same exceptional care you have always enjoyed.
